A selection of paintings from 2010 - 2017

Still life, abstraction, with the influence of the figure, flowers and landscape.

My interest in painting always connects back to the act of observing reality or my subject directly from life. I find returning to nature, images, still life, or the figure at some stage in the process is grounding when working with the personalized abstract narratives that my paintings present.

I feel nurtured by art history and the dialogue between painters throughout time whose approaches demonstrate the complex formal and conceptual language of painting’s past, present and future. These artists are a steady reference point within a process of working that is fluid and intuitive.

The paintings in this archive present a wide range of interests, going back in time to my foundation in still life, the figure and working from observation in the landscape.
