Group Flower Arranging

Nunes’ social practice of arranging flowers collaboratively developed from still life and drawing as the foundations of her painterly language.

During the group flower arranging activity a moment of performance occurs when participants select and place flowers in the vase.

The first group flower arranging experience took place outdoors in a palm tree grove and was made into a film by filmmaker Nadia Agsen. A Palm Forest documents the experience and became the inspiration for Nunes’ explorations in interactive engaements in the studio.
